Gila Community & Tourism Development
The project consists of three components, in collaboration with the Silver City Ranger District of the Gila National Forest and the Continental Divide Trail (CDT) Coalition.
1. Gomez Peak trail signs - Replace and improve trail junction signage, maps, trail marking and trailhead signs for the Gomez Peak trail system near the Little Walnut Picnic Area and Gomez Peak Pavilion.
2.CDT connector trail - This will provide a non-motorized trail for the current CDT alternative route to the Gila Hot Springs area and expands hiking, biking and horseback riding opportunities for local trailer users and visitors.
3. Dragonfly Small Vehicle Parking lot expansion for the Fort Bayard Trail System - This would effectively double the parking capacity of the existing lot and provide separate entrances and exits and better signage.
