The Future Forge

This project will consist of the physical purchase of a plot of land to develop into a community attraction. We currently own the building and the land neighboring this half acre lot, and would be able to take care of it for generations to come. This adjoining land would make for the perfect place to develop new tourist attractions like a downtown public park with beautiful walking paths, food and botanical gardens, artistic installations and landscaping, and possibly an interactive STEM center. This project has the potential to engage many community partners and attract many daily visitors, both local and nonlocal alike.

The development of this land will very much be a community effort with many partnerships. The Future Forge Makerspace will guide these efforts with sustainability, originality, and inclusivity in mind. In that way we hope to reach our long term goal of making this a permanent community space leaving many asking “have you been to the Makers Playground?” This will be a space that is never forgotten. The Makers Playground project will bring value and community involvement to the East Hudson neighborhoods, and will attract attention from the main downtown area.
